WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Please ensure you are well prepared
for your hospital visit.


Please note that the online document must be completed by the patient or member of the medical aid prior to the procedure and emailed to reception@kilnerparkdayclinic.co.za

Kilnerpark Day Hospital will contact the patient to confirm the of admittance and time.

  • ONLINE ADMISSION

    • Kilnerpark Day Hospital will contact the patient to confirm the date of admittance and time.
    • Please note that the online admission document must be completed by the patient or member of the medical aid prior to the procedure and emailed to reception@kilnerparkdayclinic.co.za
    • Our reception staff is there to assist you on arrival at the hospital. During the admission process, we will:
      • Assist you with all the necessary account information and accounting procedures.
      • Familiarise you with the processes and procedures for the day.
      • Inform you about the services and amenities at your disposal during your stay at the hospital.
      • Familiarise you with the layout of the hospital and direct you to the ward where you will stay for the day.
  • NO EATING OR DRINKING

    • Please do not eat or drink anything at least 6 hours prior to the procedure.
    • Remember to keep a watchful eye on children.
  • VALUABLES

    • Please leave all your personal items at home, as Kilnerpark Day Hospital cannot be held responsible for any loss or damages during your stay at the hospital.
  • CLOTHING

    • Please remember to wear comfortable clothing when you check in.
    • Each patient will be given a theatre gown to wear when you are admitted. It is therefore not necessary to bring any sleep-wear.
    • Kindly avoid wanzi sleep-wear for children, as it is uncomfortable and difficult to manage after a procedure.
    • Prior to your hospital admission, please ensure that you remove all earrings, noserings, and any other types of rings for pre-operative procedures.
  • AMENITIES
    We provide the following free of charge when you are admitted to our facility:

    • Coffee & Tea
    • Television
    • Wifi
  • TIME MANAGEMENT

    • Please arrive on time in order to reduce time spent in the reception area.
  • PAYMENT

    • Kilnerpark Day Hospital charges medical aid tariffs. The hospital will forward the final account directly to the medical aid scheme for payment.
    • The Day Hospital accounts remain the responsibility of the member.
    • It is important to know that each provider is independent and that there will be three different accounts per procedure:
      The Kilnerpark Day Hospital, the Anaesthetist, and the Doctor performing the procedure. Co-payments are payable on admission as per medical aid guidelines.

  • VISITORS

    • Only one person may accompany the patient. No additional family members are allowed as per Covid-19 protocol.
  • SAFETY

    • Kilnerpark Day Hospital adhere to the Covid-19 protocol as prescribed by the South African Government.
    • Please sanitize your hands and continue to wear your mask on arrival.
    • A temperature check-in will be done on arrival.
    • Keep your proof of the negative PCR COVID-19 test at hand should you be required to provide proof.
  • TIME MANAGEMENT

    • Please arrive on time in order to reduce time spent in the reception area.
  • PAYMENT

    • Kilnerpark Day Hospital charges medical aid tariffs. The hospital will forward the final account directly to the medical aid scheme for payment.
    • All Day Hospital accounts remain the responsibility of the member.
    • Should the medical aid fail to pay the account in full, the member of the medical aid remains responsible for the balance, which has to be settled within 30 days of the procedure.
    • It is important to know that each provider is independent and that there will be three different accounts per procedure:
      The Kilnerpark Day Hospital, the Anaesthetist, and the Doctor performing the procedure. Co-payments are payable on admission as per medical aid guidelines.
